Our Mission: Providing financial solutions for every stage of life.
A letter from our CEO

Dear Valued Member,

The last couple months have been challenging for us all. These times have taught us so much and we are making progress together. In this newsletter, you’ll find highlights about the last month of programs and activities and information on what you can expect in the future.

As catastrophic as it has been, the COVID-19 pandemic does have some silver linings. As a credit union, we’ve collaborated better than ever before. We have adapted and reshaped some of our operations to a better way of doing business for the future. We’ve all embraced technology more than ever and we’ve worked together to overcome numerous challenges and create solutions needed for this new world.

During the last 60 days, Community First’s Pandemic Relief program has assisted more than 5,000 people with deferments and other relief. Our mortgage forbearance program has helped homeowners and will continue to be available. Community First was also able to assist about 300 small businesses access $11 million in PPP loans.

On Monday, May 11, we reopened most of our branch lobbies to a warm reception from you. Based on the number of appointments and the amount of business conducted, along with the positive comments we heard, our members appreciate moving to this next phase in a safe and prudent manner. On June 1, we began our next phase of reopening which included expanding our Member Experience Center hours to Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., standing up an Express Team of dedicated phone representatives for new accounts and loans and reopened our Mandarin and Riverside branches. All of the details of this phase can be found here.

During the pandemic and safer-at-home orders, we’ve also created additional ways to engage with and support our community. We hosted our very first virtual moveUP Money Experience for Teens which was attended by hundreds of people. We also funded programs to help the under-served in our community during this crisis. Community First has also recently launched our Virtual Pop-Up Branch to offer members a new way to connect with our team and engage with our partners. And we supported virtual graduation ceremonies and celebrations through the Brightest and Best program with News4Jax.

As we move towards fully reopening and getting back to work, let’s not forget all we’ve experienced – and what we’ve learned. We are one city and one community. Staying safe is what matters the most – so let’s all continue to look out for each other. And we’ll get through this to a better, brighter future.

Thank you for your continued support and membership with Community First.
