Dear Valued Member,
As we all adjust to the sudden changes to our lives caused by COVID-19, I am reminded daily of what’s important and of all the things we’ve achieved together as well as all the things we’ve weathered in the past. While this storm is unlike others, experience provides us with perspective that can help us through the pandemic.
Prior to this crisis we were very fortunate to have come from a position of financial strength, the strongest financial position in the credit union’s history. This strength established a solid foundation that gives us the resources we need to take care of our members and keep all of our associates employed. And this strength and stability comes from members like you – members who are joined by a common ideal – to help each other in a cooperative way and to form a union that makes us stronger together.
Tough situations like COVID-19 are true tests of any institution’s mettle. Community First prides itself on helping the 145,000 members who are counting on us more than ever. While we’ve temporarily made service changes to protect the safety of you and our employees, we have worked hard to be accessible, member-focused and solution-oriented.
As I write this, we are finalizing our plans to reopen our branch lobbies in a safe, responsible and controlled manner. In preparing for this, we have sourced the supplies needed to retrofit branch lobbies with additional protections that include plexiglass barriers, hand sanitizing stations, masks and gloves, and floor stickers to maintain social distancing. Frequent disinfection throughout the day is a top priority. We will limit the number of members in the lobbies at any given time while encouraging that members schedule appointments in advance. Watch for further updates soon including the actual date when the lobbies will reopen.
I hope you’ve had a chance to connect with our digital events – like financial education webinars and Facebook Live community events. Keeping you engaged and informed is our priority.
Community First is rooted in the commitment to investing in our community. And we will continue to invest in you and the solutions that help you through this pandemic. We are all thinking about you and your families as we work to be stronger together.
Thank you for being an important member of Community First. â–
